Hideaway
“Surely, Ozon had Rohmer in mind when he co-wrote and directed this lovely film.”
Hideaway
(La Refuge)
Mousse and Louis are young, beautiful, rich and in love. But drugs have invaded their lives. One day they overdose, and Louis dies. Mousse survives, but soon learns she’s pregnant. Feeling lost, she runs away to a house far from Paris. Several months later, Louis’s brother joins her in her refuge. HIDEAWAY is the latest film from François Ozon, the director of 8 WOMEN and SWIMMING POOL.
“One of the pleasures of Hideaway (Le Refuge), from François Ozon, an erratic talent of satisfying films like Under the Sand and misfires like 8 Women, is its insistence on ambiguity.” (Manohla Dargis, New York Times)
