Past Run
halloween
The director and musician Rob Zombie offers a straight remake of a crucial bit of Americana, John Carpenter’s 1978 Halloween. Scout Taylor-Compton steps into the (metaphorically) big shoes of Jamie Lee Curtis, as the plucky babysitter faced with an escaped homicidal maniac. The casting suggests a certain camp approach: Malcolm McDowell, Brad Dourif, William Forsythe, Udo Kier, Danny Trejo, Dee Wallace Stone and Adrienne Barbeau.
