Past Run
The good German
Another chameleon change for the director Steven Soderbergh, who here transforms Joseph Kanon’s novel about an American reporter (George Clooney) returning to postwar Berlin in search of his former mistress (Cate Blanchett) into a letter-perfect evocation of studio filmmaking of the 1940’s. With Beau Bridges and a scary terrific Tobey Maguire. An Oscar nominee for Best Score (Thomas Newman).
