Genesis

The new film from the directors of the incredibly successful Microcosmos details the creation of the universe, and all that is amongst it - the flora, the fauna, the human race. An African griot recounts the world's creation in a tall tale, but this is a real story putting together pieces of our past. The birth of the universe, the formation of the Earth, the appearance of life, the emergence from the waters, the conquest of the earthly paradise... a frantic and eventful saga unfolds before our eyes in this documentary using nature's wonders to depict human history.

"Genesis is a creationist's nightmare -- a feature-length endorsement of evolution. But it does so in an inherently spiritual manner. At times, the life through a microscope plainly blurs the line between man and animal."
-- Kevin Crust, LOS ANGELES TIMES

"Offers the kind of eye-poppingly intimate footage of various critters evolving from the fetal stage or eating, strolling, fighting and courting that can only be obtained via infinite patience with special equipment in exotic locations."
-- Lisa Nesselson, VARIETY

"Makes the shift from the world in a grain of sand to nothing less than a material history of the world."
-- Ella Taylor, L.A. WEEKLY
