Past Run
That Game of Chess
Rahul, an engineer in India, gets a job offer in the United States, but his mother and brother disapprove. He makes a deal with his family: if he can a win a game of chess with his father, his family must let him go. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, who vowed to his mother that would refrain from meat, alcohol and sex while studying in London, Rahul makes a series of promises to his father about his conduct and purity before leaving for the U.S. Once abroad, however, confronted with racism and his love for an American girl, he loses his way and breaks all his promises.
