Fracknation

After being sued for filming and distributing a Q&A with filmmaker Josh Fox, where Fox admits to leaving out relevant information from his documentary GASLAND, journalist Phelim McAleer sets out on a journey to find the truth about hydraulic fracturing (fracking), a controversial practice of extracting natural gas from shale rock.

McAleer interviews scientists, industry experts, politicians and the people whose lives are deeply affected by gas drilling. He discovers families across the country virtually ignored by national press. From rural residents in Pennsylvania to New York farmers to small town Texans, McAleer hears a similar story: Fracking is safe and it’s saving their farms and their communities—but the media and environmentalists don’t care.

McAleer also discovers how deep emotions run on both sides of the issue. Politicians walk out of interviews. Families are brought to tears discussing how they may lose their family farm without gas production on their property. Anti-fracking activists threaten violence.

FrackNation is the film that tells the truth about fracking.
