The Fallen Idol

Rialto Picture's new restoration of Carol Reed's THE FALLEN IDOL stars Ralph Richardson, Michèle Morgan, and young Bobby Henrey. Winner of the New York Film Critics award for Best Director, with a screenplay by Graham Greene (winner of the Best Screenplay award at Venice), the film is the story of Phillipe (Henrey), the child of the French ambassador in London, who mistakenly believes that his only friend, the embassy's butler, Baines, has killed his wife. THE FALLEN IDOL is a classic noir suspenser, which Reed and Green followed up with THE THIRD MAN.
