Past Run
Ex Machina
Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: Episode VII, Unbroken) stars as Caleb Smith, a programmer at an Internet-search giant, who is selected to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac, A Most Violent Year, Inside Llewyn Davis). Caleb becomes involved in an experiment with AVA (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking, beautiful A.I. robot whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated––and more deceptive––than the two men could have imagined.
“Sizzlingly smart and agreeably sententious...with gorgeous images, astute writing and memorably strong performances.”
— Joe Margenstern, Wall St. Journal
