Dzi Croquettes - a Brazilian groundbreaking theater group, inspired the youth to resist the 1968 military censorship’s ban on freedom of speech during Brazil’s violent dictatorship. Their innovative dance, hypnotic sensuality, humor, political satire, and explosive performances took Brazil and Europe by storm. Godmothered by Liza Minnelli, the group attracted the international artistic elite as front-row fans. Recently banned in China, while in Brazil President Dilma Rousseff will award the Dzi Croquettes group with “The Cultural Order of Merit Award”.
