Rachel Johannes, a young aspiring restaurateur living in Los Angeles, is forced to revisit her complex and troubling past when her abusive father dies unexpectedly on the family farm back in her small, Midwestern hometown. Though initially drawing comfort from her younger sister Izzy when she arrives for the funeral, Rachel comes to see that their shared trauma from the past affects both of them powerfully in their current lives. The sisters are thrown even more off balance by the sudden and unexpected arrival of their brother Yale, long estranged from the family. Though the three share a bond of mutual experiences and family ties, long-buried emotions, memories and a darker secret gradually surface and threaten to drive them apart in a compelling, thoughtful drama that reminds us that when you bury the truth - it can come back to haunt you.
