A Dirty Shame
The lastest from the inimitable John Waters: When the owner of a Baltimore working class convenience store, Sylvia Stickles (Tracey Ullman), suffers a concussion, the injury causes a drastic change in her sexual drive, turning her into a sex addict with crazy, wild and urgent desires and compulsions, much to the joy and then frustration of her husband (Chris Isaak) who has trouble keeping up with her, as her new personality threatens to tear apart the remnants of what wasn't an entirely perfect family to begin with.
"A nonstop raunchfest with a surreal premise and a provocative agenda." -- J. Hoberman, VILLAGE VOICE
"Waters has returned to trashy form with what is unquestionably his most outrageous film since those heady Pink Flamingos days." -- Michael Rechtshaffen, HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
"There's something to be said for the consistency of Waters' defiantly unrefined style, not to mention a certain naive charm in the '50s B-movie playfulness." -- David Rooney, VARIETY
