The Devil’s Miner
A documentary portrait of two young brothers who work in the silver mines of Bolivia. Through their children's eyes, we encounter the world of devout Catholic miners who sever their ties with God upon entering the mine: It is an ancient belief that the devil, as represented by statues constructed in the tunnels, determines the fate of all who work within the sixteenth-century mines. "An unforgettable journey... exceptionally beautiful images." (Variety)
The filmmakers will conduct a Q&A after the 8 o’clock show Friday, April 28th.
