The film begins in the context of the present day.
Bangladesh women's football team is in despair after losing all the matches of an international football tournament. Under the pressure of criticism, they decide to quit the game. In such a situation, the coach of the women's team brought the then manager of the independent Bengali football team to motivate them.
The manager sat in front of the women footballers and started telling them
the story of 1971- the year of the Liberation War and how a bunch of talented motivated players took the huge task of uplifting the spirits and aspirations of freedom of an entire nation from their victories on the football field .
The story of Damal revolves around three players, Durjoy, Munna and Monir of the independent Bengal football team and their days of glory against all odds as the Swadhin Bangla Football Team.
Played by Siam, Shariful Razz and Bidya Sinha Mim and Directed by Raihan Rafi – the same Team from this year’s blockbuster film “Poran” –
