The Civilization of Maxwell Bright
A cruel misogynist, MAX BRIGHT, purchases his fantasy woman, MAI-LING, an obedient Chinese mail-order bride. She attempts to awaken his peaceful “inner-Buddha.” His world spirals out of control when he is diagnosed with terminal cancer. As his health deteriorates, MAI-LING leads him in exploring the spiritual aspects of his life.
