Past Run
Broken English
Single and thirty-something, Nora Wilder (a startlingly good, nuanced Parker Posey) is starting to panic. Frustrated by and increasingly cynical about her love life, she wants to know what she has to do to find a relationship as good as her friend Audrey’s (Drea De Matteo) “perfect marriage.” It doesn’t help that her overbearing mother (Gena Rowlands) takes every opportunity to remind Nora that she’s still unattached. After a series of disastrous first dates, she meets an enchanting Frenchman (Melvil Poupaud) whose passion leaves Nora spinning but wary. Zoe R. Cassavetes directs; with Griffin Dunne and Justin Theroux.
