Broken Bird
Broken Bird
BROKEN BIRD invites us into the fragile inner world of Sybil Chamberlain — a gentle, creative woman whose loneliness has quietly shaped every corner of her life. Traumatized by a devastating childhood accident that took the family she loved, Sybil has grown into adulthood feeling detached from the living world around her.
She finds solace in poetry, taxidermy, and her work in a funeral parlour, where the dead feel calm, honest, and nonjudgmental. Among them, she feels understood. But imagination and ritual only offer temporary relief from the ache of isolation that follows her everywhere.
As Sybil’s longing for connection intensifies, her relationship with death takes on an unsettling new intimacy. Her desire for love, touch, and belonging begins to eclipse reason, drawing her into increasingly disturbing territory — not through malice, but through need.
Both tragic and darkly humorous, BROKEN BIRD is a gothic character study that explores grief, desire, and the human instinct to seek comfort wherever it can be found. It is a love story — just not in the usual way.
