Charles Ryder (Matthew Good of Match Point and The Lookout) becomes entranced with the noble Marchmain family, first through the charming and provocative Sebastian (Ben Whishaw of Perfume and I'm Not There), and then his sophisticated sister, Julia (Hayley Atwell of Cassandra’s Dream and the upcoming The Duchess). The rise and fall of Charles’ infatuations reflect the decline of a decadent era in England between the wars. Oscar winner Emma Thompson co-stars as Lady Marchmain.
