Boy 23: the Forgotten Boys of Brazil
Boy 23: the Forgotten Boys of Brazil
Upon the discovery of bricks marked with Nazi swastikas on a São Paulo farm, the film follows the investigation of the historian Sidney Aguilar and the discovery of a horrifying fact: during the 1930s, fifty black boys and mulattos were taken from an orphanage in Rio de Janeiro for the farm where the bricks were found. They were numbered and enslaved by a family that was part of the political and economic elite of the country, who were Nazi sympathizers. After 83 years, two survivors of this tragedy as well as the family of a third tell their stories for the first time.
