Bowling for Columbine

Bowling for Columbine

Leftist social critic, black comedian, marksmanship champion and lifetime NRA member Michael Moore sets off on a journey to the heart of the country hoping to discover why the American pursuit of happiness is so riddled with violence. Moore creates a mosaic of flashpoints: Columbine High School security camera tapes; NRA President Charlton Heston at home; a young man who makes homemade napalm with the help of The Anarchist's Cookbook; the murder of a six-year-old girl by another six-year-old. BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE is an alternately humorous and horrifying look at firearms abuse, destined to leave audiences expecting with dread the next breaking news report about a homegrown assassin with a constitutionally-protected Uzi. (The title comes from the allegations made against musicians that music was to blame for the Columbine murders; following that logic, Moore posits that since the two boy murderers were also avid bowlers, that sport should be blamed as well.)
