What was Jesus’ relationship with Mary Magdalene – that of prophet and disciple – or husband and wife?
BLOODLINE follows documentary filmmaker, Bruce Burgess, into the so-called “Bloodline” conspiracy which claims that Mary Magdalene married Jesus Christ and had children, thus undermining 2000 years of Christian Doctrine.
Ever since the bestseller, Holy Blood, Holy Grail first promulgated this idea back in 1982, there has been a growing wave of interest around the world. When Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code was published in 2003, it turned into a tsunami, with tens of millions of people now debating the subject and looking for their own answers. Is this the church’s greatest cover-up? BLOODLINE asks the questions in a quest to find the truth.
Burgess and his team have found a wooden chest which may shed more light on the disputed relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The team also discovered a series of handwritten papers bearing the signature of the priest of the village of Rennes-le-Chateau at the end of the 19th Century. In the papers, the priest repudiates the veracity of the Church’s Doctrine, calling it a great lie and states that he had discovered evidence under his church that Jesus did not die on the cross and had married Mary Magdalene who bore him children.
At the heart of the film is the contact Bruce had with two men who claimed to represent the Priory of Sion, the secret society that is believed to have guarded the Bloodline down through the centuries.
They say the Order is still active today and that the time has come to reveal certain information. In a series of exclusive interviews for BLOODLINE, they told Bruce that there is evidence of the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene and that the Order does possess absolute proof.
