Being Julia
BEING JULIA is lighter fare from Oscar-winning Pianist screenwriter Ronald Harwood. Based on the novel Theatre by W. Somerset Maugham, the film stars Annette Bening as a 1930s London stage actress who cheats on her husband (Jeremy Irons) with a much younger fan -- then plots a very entertaining revenge against her paramour when his affections prove false. A Dangerous Liaisons set in the glittering world of London theatre, the movie is at once playful, sexy and viciously satisfying.
"Benning gives a performance of stunning style and juicy enjoyment. That is, if you're on her Julia's side, and we all are!" -- Jules Brenner, VARIAGATE.COM
