5,000 Blankets

Inspired by a remarkable true story, when her husband has a mental breakdown and goes missing, a determined woman and her young son set out to find him on the streets, sparking a movement of compassion towards those in need and inspiring a city.

Added Value Description: (10 minutes) Phillip and his mother Cyndi, the real-life people that inspired the film, share how the foundation PHILLIP’S WISH was started when Phillip was seven years old and what the foundation is still doing today. What began as 400 blankets collected, grew over a few years to over 20,000 blankets along with hundreds of hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, toiletries, and thousands of toys for those in need. Phillip’s Wish, that no one would be cold or uncared for… became a reality.
