Enter the Dragon

The [performance] by Mr. Lee, not only the picture's supermaster killer but a fine actor as well, is downright fascinating. [Five out of five stars.]

In regards to all 29 days of the month, Laemmle Theatres hereby declares that February 2016 is Kung Fu-bruary! Because...why not!?

One of the best and most popular kung fu films ever, and perhaps the peak of the great Bruce Lee's career,
Enter the Dragon succeeds by presenting a series of superbly staged fight sequences with a minimum of distractions. The story finds Lee as a martial-arts expert determined to help capture the drug dealer whose gang was responsible for his sister's death. This villain operates from a fortified island manned by a team of crack martial artists, who also host a kung fu competition. Lee uses his skills to enter the contest and then chops, kicks, punches, twirls and otherwise lays waste to all opponents as he penetrates the dealer's headquarters. The audience is treated to showdown after showdown featuring Lee’s panther-like grace and mastery of a variety of martial arts. Essential viewing for martial arts fans, at the time of its 1973 release the film was also embraced by a wide audience thanks to a fast pace and high production values.
