The Life of an Actress is a musical drama about the trials and tribulations of three actresses as they struggle to achieve their dreams while balancing an acting career with love, dignity and getting older. When the diner where they work gets into financial trouble, chasing dreams confront reality.
Hannah is a 41-year-old aging beauty who has never made it to Broadway. She has an unclear relationship with the diner owner, Charlie, and they bicker like a married couple. However, their perceived different worlds has kept them in denial over the years.
Jen is a sweet 25-year-old girl-next-door actress who just left for L.A. to pursue her dreams. Her longtime Puerto Rican boyfriend, Carlos, just finished college and is embarking on a career as an accountant. He is the first person in his family to finish college and feels an obligation to stay in New York to support his family. Their different worlds, combined with the pangs of young love, will test their relationship.
Sandy just turned 30 and is questioning her existence as a struggling actress. She is a free spirit who is always dressed in a skirt and boots. As she decides to make her own film, she encounters the darker side of the industry.
