For the 225th anniversary of Mozart’s death Teatro alla Scala presents a new production of Le nozze di Figaro that will be entrusted to an extraordinary director who is only in his early 30s: Frederic Wake-Walker, author of a production of La finta giardiniera which was the revelation of the Glyndebourne Festival in 2014. The sets are the work of Antony McDonald. The musical part is entrusted to the one of the finest Mozart conductors of our times, Franz Welser-Möst, who will be appearing for the first time during an important new production at La Scala, while the main parts are played by Diana Damrau (Countess), Marianne Crebassa (Cherubino), Golda Schultz (Susanna) and Markus Werba (Figaro). Carlos Álvarez and Simon Keenlyside will alternate in the role of the Conte.
