Film Summary Jay (Kim Seok-hun), a fearless detective, is hot on the trailer of T, a deadly terrorist he's been relentlessly pursuing for years. T (Sang-Min Park) was an elite secret agent for the government's intelligence agency before getting tossed out for committing an unsanctioned assassination. On the day of the new mayor's official visit to the subway, T hijacks a train and puts 13 million lives at risk. Pickpocket Kay (Doo-Na Bae), who carries a torch for Jay, sees what's going on and quickly contacts him, and the showdown is on between two men with a death wish.
"The hero isn't the only relentless thing about TUBE, a check-your-brain-at-the-door, almost nonstop actioner that finally wins the viewer over with its sheer single-mindedness. A high-tech cross between Speed and The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, with a mad terrorist high-jacking a booby-trapped train on the Seoul subway, pic often has a lateral approach to storytelling that's somewhere between a computer game and Asian manga comic . . . movie has a very lean, pared-down style -- decorated with occasional visual effect like accelerated pans -- as well as an ochry, subdued look to its colors that adds to the gritty feel . . . one of South Korea's most charismatic actresses, big-eyed Bae makes an offbeat female lead, part punk kid, part Cinderella figure." ~ Derek Elley, Variety.
