Film Summary In PARK, twelve offbeat characters converge on a secluded, mostly forgotten public park overlooking Los Angeles. APRIL (Dagney Kerry) arrives first with the intention of ending it all, but she just can’t seem to make it happen. IAN (David Fenner) shows up expecting romance with his fellow pet groomer KRYSTA (Izabella Miko) only to discover she’s planned a kinky rendezvous with DENNIS (Billy Baldwin) instead. Dennis’s wife PEGGY (Ricki Lake) and her best friend CLAIRE (Cheri Oteri) come to punish and humiliate Dennis, and amidst it all, four young coworkers arrive with a lunch of take-out sushi -- a meal that turns particularly interesting when NATHAN (Trent Ford) and BABAR (Maulik Pancholy) prove to MEREDITH (Anne Dudek) and SHERYL (Melanie Lynskey) that they enjoy eating lunch naked. Add DARNELL (Treach), an explosive tow truck driver, and JAVIER (Francesco Quinn), a smoldering park worker, and you have all the key ingredients of a no-holds-barred, choke-on-your-popcorn comedy that attacks the emotional desolation of modern life in Los Angeles and will leave you incapable of ever seeing your local, municipal park quite the same way again.
A “masterfully conceived and executed modern farce, whose performers earn belly laughs by grace of their honesty.” (F.X. Feeney, L.A. Weekly)
