Film Summary Writing the book for soar-and-crash rock, the New York Dolls flashed onto the music scene in a blaze with their glam looks and wild pre-punk sound. After the Dolls were done and only their influences remained, bassist Arthur "Killer" Kane fell into a downward spiral of alcohol abuse leading to attempted suicide.
Thirty years later, director Greg Whiteley found a humbled Kane in Los Angeles, where he had become a born-again Mormon dreaming of a band reunion. Weaving together Kane's storybook comeback with interviews from his admirers, Whiteley's moving tribute focuses less on life's mistakes and more on the redemption found in second chances.
