I VITELLONI
I Vitelloni were the slackers, dreaming their lives away in a small Italian village, that Fellini loved and understood so well. The final film in Fellini’s "Trilogy of Illusion" (prints of The White Sheik and Variety Lights were not available for this series) deals with maturity: The maturity of the five characters that Fellini portrays and of Fellini himself as filmmaker. I Vitelloni was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
