Erno
Fisch was born in 1903 in Sighet (Maramarossziget), the same town in
Transylvania where world famous writer Elie Wiesel was born. A Jew,
he escaped deportation by hiding away in the forest for six months,
thus surviving the Holocaust. Through his life, director Judit (Memoirs
of a River) Elek shows us the whole of the 20th century, teaching us
that there are other possible answers to the challenges of history and
fate than resignation and victimization. US PREMIERE!
Director Judit Elek will be present for Q&A following the screening
