György Petó, a successful Jewish Hungarian businessman was a talented amateur motion-picture photographer. He left many roles of uncut film which recorded life on the lake, birthday parties, family gatherings and idyllic moments with his lover, Eva. The films were discovered by director Péter Forgács, who has created a cinematic genre where he combines found footage, newsreels, journals and archives. This film is a beautiful and eloquent depiction of life in the Hungarian Jewish community before WWII.
